Welcome to Chuy's, the vibrant Tex-Mex oasis located at 216 Summit Blvd, Birmingham, AL. Known for its warm ambiance and lively spirit, Chuy's delivers an authentic taste of Texas-style Mexican cuisine that's sure to please your palate. With a main focus on quality ingredients and unique flavors, this restaurant stands out in a bustling environment.
As a food reviewer, I've had the pleasure of delving into the menu that boasts delectable offerings such as **crispy chicken flautas** drizzled with their signature bang-bang sauce, and **taco salads** swirled with jalapeño ranch dressing, all of which leave guests buzzing with delight. You can always start your meal with their **crispy tortilla chips** complemented by a heavenly **ranch dip**— a crowd favorite that keeps patrons coming back for more.
Chuy's doesn't just offer unmatched food; the service is equally commendable. Patrons like Melissa Poliquin rave about their **friendly staff** who create welcoming experiences, while Dr. Richard B. praises quick service without sacrificing quality. Whether you're at the bar or settled at a table, attentive servers ensure your drink never runs dry, adding to the overall experience. The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere is perfect for gatherings, and given its ideal location in a classy mall, it’s an excellent choice for lunch or dinner outings.
One of the highlights here is the opportunity to explore their array of **sauces**, as highlighted by Chuck Fresh in his enthusiastic review. Sampling a “flight” of sauces ranging from mild to spicy gives diners a layered experience that complements every dish beautifully—especially when paired with their **fajitas** made from top-tier chicken. It's an elevated Tex-Mex experience that embraces rich flavors while meeting high culinary standards.
While some guests have noted minor issues with timing, the consensus is clear: the tantalizing dishes are worth any wait. Next time you find yourself at Chuy's, be prepared to indulge in a feast of flavors that truly exemplifies Tex-Mex done right. Getting there early might be wise to snag a spot, but once you step into this delightful establishment, the delicious cuisine will make it all worthwhile. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

Go to the bar and ask for Dillion. It was My first time here and I will definitely be back. Great food and service. Quick and friendly ! Update... Still my #1 spot. Dillon was gone but the bartender took good care of me 10/10 recommend
This is a fantastic restaurant. The food comes out quickly and is delicious. Haven was our server and was excellent, she never let our drinks run past half so she brought us out second drinks and gave us to-go drinks. The chips are amazing as well, especially if you get the ranch dip. This is a classy mall and this restaurant fits right in. I highly recommend it.
Chuy's at The Summit has been one of my favorite restaurants for several years but for some reason, I've never given it a rating. You'll have to pardon my "half eaten" photos because I dug in the second the plate arrived. While waiting for my food, the chips, pico and jalapeno ranch dip were quickly devoured. Our server continually checked to be sure we had everything we needed. My wife enjoyed her taco salad with jalapeno ranch dressing and my choice of chicken flautas was perfect -- nice and crunchy, topped with bang-bang sauce. Next time, I'll skip the bang-bang and get the creamy jalapeno ranch. My recommendation is that you must give Chuy's a try. Parking can be a challenge during peak hours, so shoot for an early dinner.
My order was brought out about 15 minutes after the estimated time with no apology for my wait. The food was amazing however and worth the wait. Defiantly will eat here again when back in this area. I had the taquitos and chili con queso with chips. It was so so good!
OMG this is the BEST Tex Mex we have EVER had!!! Fortunately it was slow and we had the amazing opportunity to try a “flight” of sauces. From mild to spicy, each was delicious in its own way. And the creamy jalapeno salsa - amazing on anything! We split fajitas to test the chicken, and no “chicken roulette” here. Top of the line Sysco or equivalent chicken here. Sure, it’s mildly more pricey than Taco Bell, but your palate will thank you. We’re hooked and will be back twice a week. Wow!
If you can get in it is worth a short wait. Most of the time they are on over 1 hour wait so join the wait list before you leave or make a reservation. Once you get in you see why they are on an hour wait. Food was fast. Margaritas were good but didn't have much alcohol in them. The Chicken Fajitas were good but didn't have many veggies or onions. Service was very good. Food speed was medium. If I can get in without waiting 90 minutes I will be back.
CARTER CARTER CARTER was out server! He was amazing, great customer service, pleasant, funny, and menu knowledge. Gave great suggestions on cocktails and margaritas. It was NATIONAL MARGARITA WEEKEND and it was jam packed. Our wait was 1hr 45 mins. We were told our wait was 30 mins. We met some amazing people while waiting for our table. The food was amazing, served hot and fresh salsa. We had queso and creamy jalapeno dips with chips. For entrees Baja shrimp tacos, burrito as big as your face, and Challatus. We will be back , but not on National Margarita Weekend. Lol The manager on duty was gracious and amazing. He kept everything together.
Parking can be difficult to find, but the food is well worth it! It's so nice to have a fajita where the meat breaks off into multiple bites rather than being large rubbery pices. The appetizer platter combo Fajita fed myself, my mom, and we still had enough leftovers for lunch the next day for both of us.
